39. The Development Process
This chapter describes the creation process of CD-ROM- and web-based proceedings. The first step in producing multimedia proceedings is always to collect the raw material (video, sound, text) in a format suitable for further processing. It is well worth spending substantial effort in making sure that the raw material is complete and of sufficient quality. It is much more time consuming, if in the subsequent editing steps low quality slides, papers, and audio files have to be enhanced by software.
