Introduction

The following software application (executable file) provides for the transmission and receipt of a byte of data via the PC RS-232 serial port. The port is set to Com Port. The CPLD must be configured with the correct circuit and connected with the correct serial cable (pins 2-2, pins 3-3 and pins 5-5). The board is powered from a single +5 V power supply.

In order for the application to run, then the following Windows .OCX file  MSCOMM32.OCX must be located in:

C:\Windows\system32

The executable file application above is located in the bin directory and the file name is

TestBook1.exe
