Files for optimal control (OCT-MCTDH)
-------------------------------------

optcntrl.py Main script for optimal control
messages.py Logging for optcntrl
octjob.py Parsing of command line, storage of options
mctdhinp.py Classes wrapping input and operator files
mctdheingabe.py "Eingabe" routines for input and operator files
defaultoct.py Default OCT algorithm (the Rabitz scheme)
krotovoct.py The Krotov OCT algorithm.
octtools.py Basic checks, parsing, output for OCT algorithms
setup.py Selection and loading of module with OCT algorithm

Tested with Python versions 2.4 and 2.5. Will not work with Python 3.

To start a control job go to the directory with an input file and type:

  optcntrl -mnd <inputfile.inp>

This assumes that optcntrl.py is linked into a directory in the
$PATH. If the command 'optcntrl' is not found try to create
a soft link:

  cd $MCTDH_DIR/bin
  ln -s python/optcntrl.py optcntrl

Check if $MCTDH_DIR/bin/python/optcntrl.py is executable.

Example inputs files can be found in $MCTDH_DIR/inputs/optcntrl/

To see the command line options type:

  optcntrl -h

See also the HTML documentation ($MCTDH_DIR/doc/index.html)
for reference.

Docstrings of the modules and routines as well as
the comments in the source code may provide help as well.
