There are two options for installing DMAKE 3.80 or 4.00: Under OS/2, one
can use the enclosed executable files. Under other operating systems one
should use the DMAKE source code and a suitable C compiler, in order to
obtain an executable version of DMAKE.

DMAKE is suited for installations under many operating systems. If
however, your operating system is not part of the DMAKE list, this
process will require much effort on your part.

For installation with the enclosed executable files:
You will need two files, `dmake.exe' and `startup.mk', which should
first be copied into a directory that can be globally accessed.
Thereafter define an environment variable `MAKESTARTUP' and assign it
the absolute path of `startup.mk'; for example under OS/2 add the line

    set MAKESTARTUP=e:\os2util\startup.mk

to the `config.sys' file.

The executable version of DMAKE 4.00 together with its startup file has
been used when testing the EFNUM Library (FORTRAN 77) with excellent
results.
Some folders contain also zip-compressed executable files of DMAKE;
specifically of DMAKE 4.00 under OS/2 in `exe/os2/400/dmake40.zip'
which also contains the source codes. For testing EFNUM we have
exclusively used the uncompressed versions of DMAKE.
