Curriculum vitae

Pascal Bridel est né le 11 juillet 1948. Originaire de Moudon (VD) et Genève (GE), il est marié et est père de deux filles.

Licencié ès sciences politiques en 1970, il obtient en 1971 une licence ès sciences économiques, mention "économie politique" à l'Université de Lausanne. En 1976, il y devient Docteur ès sciences économiques, mention "économie politique" puis, en 1981, il obtient un Ph D in economics à l'Université de Cambridge.

Il est Professeur ordinaire d'économie politique à l'Université de Lausanne depuis 1986 et il est Professeur invité aux Universités de Genève (1987 et 1989) et de Pékin (Beida University en 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1991 et 1992).

En 1990, il fonde le Centre d'Etudes Interdisciplinaires Walras-Pareto à l'Université de Lausanne dont il est le directeur.

Il a été de 1981 à 1986 conseiller scientifique au département de la recherche puis responsable du service des relations monétaires internationales de la Banque nationale suisse.

Son domaine de recherche est la théorie monétaire et l'histoire de l'analyse économique (notamment la question de l'intégration de la monnaie dans la théorie de l'équilibre général)
