Timetabling
Research
Welcome to Timetabling Research with Automated Scheduling and Planning. Timetabling Research is a group specialising in researching methods of handling the various univerisity timetabling problems, a substantial task given the size of the average university and the options available to students with the recent introduction of modularisation.
We have up till now been using a combination of genetic algorithms and graph-colouring heuristics to solve the problem. Most current research is aimed at refining this method to eventually enable a comprehensive, flexible and efficient timetabling system to be produced.
