Reverse Link Disabled

Normally the title of a page links to its citations. As implemented, this is one of wiki's more expensive services. Unfortunately, wiki is being swamped by "not too bright" robots that pound away at these searches. I'm forced to disable this feature until I can handle the load or offer an alternative to cloners. -- WardCunningham

Can you leave the fullsearch= syntax for those who know it, but disable the automatic triggering of it on the title click? That'd let humans do searches, but not bots. And/or, there could be a FullSearch page with a field.

That is in fact what I have done. Also, both alternatives remain available on the FindPage. (I sure hope those robots aren't reading this.) -- WardCunningham

Can you use the robots.txt protocol to ask them not to follow those links? (Quite possibly some of them will follow them anyhow, but that's what firewalling rules are for. ;-) -- MartinPool

It might be an idea if we include more backward links by hand now. -- DaveHarris
