Design Patterns READ ME
-----------------------

Design Patterns is an HTML version of the Addison Wesley book "Design Patterns:
Elements of Resuable Object-Oriented Software." To read this book on your
system, you must have the following software installed:

  - OS/2 Warp v3.0 or later
  - IBM WebExplorer
  - TCP/IP (a minimal version is supplied with WebExplorer on the OS/2 Warp
    Bonus Pack CD)

Adding Links to the Design Patterns Code Generators
--------------------------------------------------
If you have access to the World Wide Web, you can can use the Design Patterns
code generator to generate customized code based on the patterns
described in the book. To add code generation support:

  1. Find the "Design Patterns" folder on your desktop.
  2. Open the "Add Code Generation Links" program.

This program will add "Code Generation" links to the Design Patterns
book pages on your system. It will also add links to the Design Patterns
Class Library, and the Interactive Q&A help system. These links point to an
IBM WWW server.

Notes
-----
1. You must disable WebExplorer's caching feature for the Design Patterns code
generators to work correctly. To disable WebExplorer caching:
   1. Choose "Caching" from WebExplorer's "Configure" menu.
   2. Enable the "Disable all caching" checkbox.
   3. Press "OK".

2. You can use the "Interactive Q&A" links to find help on all aspects of
   Design Patterns usage.
