The MOGADOC database (Molecular Gasphase Documentation) is a comprehensive database for gasphase molecules, investigated by electron diffraction, microwave spectroscopy and radio astronomy. It informs about structural, dynamic, electric and magnetic properties of inorganic, organic and organometallic compounds in the gasphase.
The demo version of MOGADOC consists of the bibliographic file MGDLIT97 and the corresponding compound file MGDCOM97. However, the complete MOGADOC database (not the demo version!) contains about 23,800 bibliographic entries for about 7,200 compounds. Moreover about 3,600 numerical datasets for internuclear distances and bond angles are implemented.
The literature is recorded back to:
- 1930 for gasphase electron diffraction
- 1945 for microwave spectroscopy
- 1960 for molecular radio astronomy
The MGDCOM file contains substance specific data such as names and synonyms, gross and structural formulas, accession numbers, as well as numerical data (distances, angles) and graphical informations. For various numerical data sets conformational descriptions are given.
The MGDLIT file contains bibliographic data, among them keywords (controlled hierarchical vocabulary), which characterize the content of the documents quoted.
The command mode enables more sophisticated search features than searching by means of the search masks.
