KYPHOSIS.DAT
Data file belonging to the GLM macro package of XploRe 3.0.
The data is from "Generalized Additive Models, 2nd Edition", Hastie and
Tibshirani (1990), Chapman and Hall, p. 301.
Data were collected on 83 patients undergoing corrective spinal surgery. The
objective was to determine important risk factors for kyphosis, or the forward
flexion of the spine at least 40 degrees from vertical, following surgery. The
risk factors are age in month, the starting vertebrae level of the surgery and
the number of vertebrae involved.

The first column gives the age (in month).
The second column gives the starting vertebrae level of the surgery.
The third column gives the number of vertebrae involved.
The fourth column is an index for the presence of kyphosis:
   0  =  kyphosis absent,  1  =  kyphosis present

Note, that sometimes the 15th and 28th observation are omitted as outliers.
