Basics of working with mouse and keyboard

Generally:

• You will work with the typical window-structure of MS-Windows. It is oriented to handle it with your mouse and your keyboard.
• All actions by mouse can be replaced by usage of the keyboard (shortcuts). At the present helpsystem you will find such shortcuts put in parentheses e.g. (ALT+P).

Changing the active part of the window:

 Keyboard

Key combinations	Result
Tab	changes the active part of the window( filter, directories, files, preview area, selection and button-area)
Cursor up Cursur down	selects a line from the directories or files subwindow
Cursor left Cursur right	moves the cursor within the filter and selection line

Move the cursor in textfields:

 Keyboard

Move the cursor to the	begining of the line	Press Home
	end of the line	Press End
	begining of the text	Press Ctrl Home
	end of the text	Press Ctrl End
Highlight text		By pressing Shift and the left mouse button a highlighted text can be resized.

Mark, copy, cut, paste and delete of character strings:

Highlight	text	Click the left mouse button at the beginning of the text which you want to select and release it at the end.
	a word	A single word can be selected with a double click.
	a line	A single line can be selected with a triple click.
	the complete text	Clicking four times selects the whole text.
Copy text		A highlighted text is automatically transfered into the copy buffer.
Paste text		With the middle mouse button the copy buffer is added at the current position of the mouse (not the cursor!). Drag and drop with the middle mouse button moves a highlighted text.
