MRM scanned rat brain with unilateral injection of 6-hydroxydopamine. A rat receives a unilateral injection with 6-hydroxydopamine in the substantia nigra of one hemisphere. The intact brain is scanned using MRM. The site of injection is visualized (top, left), and the needle tract can be identified in relation to the intact brain (top, right). Coronal (bottom, left) and saggital (bottom, right) "virtual" sections are computer generated demonstrating the path of the needle tract and the significant structural damage caused by this treatment.
