If you're running KnotPlot on only one type of operating system, you might want to delete the directories in the resource directory that you don't need. This will conserve some disk space.
The directories and the operating systems they are required on are:
resource/ibm --- for IBM AIX systems only
resource/linux --- for Linux only
resource/sgi --- for SGI IRIX only
resource/sun4 --- for Solaris / SunOS only
resource/win32 --- for Windows 95/98/NT/2000 only
resource/mac --- for MacOS only
resource/macx --- for MacOS X only
Be sure to keep the one applying to your operating system.
You SHOULD NOT DELETE any directory in the resource directory that isn't in the list above. In particular, you should keep:
resource/www --- this is where the KnotPlot
HTML manual resides
resource/src --- source code for some utilities
that KnotPlot uses
resource/ps --- resource material needed for
PostScript output
