This directory contains examples of using the `frame' command to
make movies (among other things).

To try out the examples, you need to run KnotPlot from this directory,
and you need write access on this directory and the ppm/ sub-directory.
For this reason, it's best to make a copy of all the files in this
directory in a directory of your own, and then `cd' to that directory
and enter the command:

       mkdir ppm

to make the ppm/ sub-directory.

From now on, I'll assume you've gone ahead and made the copy. If I
refer to `this' directory, I really mean your private copy of the
`making-movies' directory.

You need to start KnotPlot from this directory so that the custom
`knotplotrc' and `basic-demos' files here are used instead of the global
defaults. The `knotplotrc' file simply defines a number of function
keys, there isn't anything complicated in there. Similarly, the
`basic-demos' file defines the buttons seen on the Demos control panel.
