Training Impacts Submodel
The purpose of this submodel was to determine the indirect impacts of military
training on tortoise populations. Direct impacts were declared less significant
than those resulting from landscape modification, and were not included.
A training intensity map was derived from elevation data, by assuming higher
soil compaction occured at lower elevations. Military training activity
and soil compaction rates are nearly synonymous for the puroposes of this
simulation.
