REFERENCE <data specification>

The REFERENCE keyword allows to specify the reference (expected) data against which the actual (observed) data will be compared. A REFERENCE instruction can be unnecessary if none of the tests specified require reference data. The REFERENCE keyword is followed by a data specification, whose format is explained later.
