Help

Help pages will be further developed to assist users in working with any peculiarities of their particular hardware/software configurations that relate to browsing this site. We have tested the site using recent versions of Netscape (4+) and Explorer (4+) in both the Mac (8+) and Windows (95/98/NT) OS, and using Netscape 4.7 in Solaris 2.6&2.7.   

Users of all platforms should have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on their systems (in order to view many of the graphics, particularly in the Model Results section).

Macintosh

Adobe Acrobat: Macintosh users are strongly urged to obtain the latest (4.x or higher) version of Acrobat Reader.

Movies: Animated maps of the landscape are currently in (platform independent) animated gif format; many are also offered in Quicktime versions, which comes installed with the Mac OS.

Unix

Movies: Animated maps of the landscape are currently in (platform independent) animated gif format; many are also offered in Quicktime versions, which unfortunately is not supported (to our knowledge) in the unix/linux environment.

Windows

Movies: Animated maps of the landscape are currently in (platform independent) animated gif format; many are also offered in Quicktime versions, which is free from Apple and can be easily installed in different versions of Windows.
