PATUXENT WATERSHED LAND USE DATA

The landuse types are aggregated based on three factors:

percentage of the land use type in the Patuxent watershed
difference in ecological processes associated with particular land use types
difference in hydrological factors associated with particular land use types

This results in the following aggregation scheme for land use types

Detailed landuse maps

We now have land use data for the following years:

Note that the first three maps are from an older project that does not have the same resolution and does not quite match the current study area. These maps will be replaced by newer ones as soon as we find the original source of information used at that time.

Note that the 1985 map in the newer map set is apparently wrong. We are currently working on this map to identify the source of error.
