Average 10 year increases in stem diameter for pine trees sampled at 10 randomly choosen sites within the Patuxent watershed (IEE). Fast growths (wide rings) were recorded for Columbia,MD in 1976, for The Patuxent National Wildlife Refuge in 1975 and 1984, for Dunkirk,MD in 1963, and for Watkins regional Park in 1967. General periods of slow growth (observed at 3 or more locations) were recorded for the years 1962, 1978 and 1987.
