More Image Buffers...
Vinci supports as many image buffers as your system's main memory can hold,
i.e. they are created dynamically as needed.
For one Vinci project, the number of image buffers might easily exceed 50
on a moderately equipped PC (depending on the individual sizes of the image volumes) -
all of them can be shown (if that is desired) in a single OrthoView.
The number of OrthoDisplays shown simultaneously can be configured individually for each
OrthoView. Usually your system's screen
will be too small to show all of them at the same time, Vinci then uses scroll bars.
Please note that some restrictions apply to the "Lite" version of Vinci, details
are given in the introductory section of the online help (press <F1>).
To load image data you can
- Use Load Images... from the File menu
- Drag an image file from the Explorer onto any Vinci window -
in particular a specific OrthoDisplay. This
also works with tools like Windows Commander, Total Commander and other file managing tools
that support drag and drop for files.
- Drag an image file from the Explorer onto the Vinci icon. Each version of Vinci
installs an icon shortcut on your desktop. As you can use any number of Vinci
major versions (e.g. Vinci 0.99 and Vinci 0.97 and Vinci 0.98) concurrently, this
is a good way of making sure an image file is displayed with a particular version
of Vinci.
- Double-click an image file in the Explorer - only works if it has a standard extension
(e.g. ".v" for ECAT7 files) that is registered for the current version of Vinci.
A list of file types that should work is given in the Extras:File Associations menu.
