1. Introduction
This CD-ROM contains supplementary material for the book
NeuroPETby K. Herholz, P. Herscovitch, and W.-D.HeissSpringer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004ISBN 3-540-00691-5
It is distributed, and should be used, only in connection with the book. All material on this CD-ROM is subject to copyright restrictions.
Positron emission tomography (PET) provides volume data sets of the human brain. Planar figures, as printed in the book, only represent highly selected planar (2D) excerpts from these data sets. They illustrate the core features of findings, but they cannot represent the whole wealth of information contained in the 3D data sets of the brain. On this CD-ROM, 3D data are presented in two formats:
- Videoclips (in both AVI and MPEG-1 format) of orthogonal cuts moving continuously through the 3D data sets and of dynamic 3D surface renderings that fuse cortical function and anatomy. Please use the control buttons of the movie player on your computer to navigate through the clips.
- Complete 3D Volume Data sets, often with co-registered MRI, that can be displayed by the enclosed Vinci software package (demo version) on any standard PC running a current version of MS Windows. We also provide information on how to visualize the volume data on other platforms.
As a supplement to the comprehensive literature list at the end of the book, references are also listed on the CD-ROM complete with authors and titles in PDF-format, Printable reference list (several formats). In addition, this list is provided as a text file in RIS format, which can be imported easily by most bibliographic software packages (Textfile in RIS Format).
