Abel Bicentennial Conference 2002 - Logo

The official logo of the conference. The logo is inspired by Abel's illustration of the lemniscate, published in Crelle's Journal. One of only three known illustrations by Abel in print.

The original to the right.

This is from one of Abel's work books. It is his characteristic way of ending, of setting the final punctuation to one of his works. This is found at the conclusion of the manuscript versions of many of his articles and at the end of paragraphs in his notebooks. The profile of Abel is added by our designer.
