Platform-independent steps:
===========================

- Make sure you have MATLAB 6.5 installed on your system.
- Make sure you have Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat installed. You can find free Windows installation of Adobe Reader in the folder "acrobat" on this CD.


Platform-dependent steps:
=========================

Windows 2000 and higher
-----------------------
- Run setup.msi from the folder "windows_installation" and follow the instructions.
- Open the file "cdbook.pdf" from the installation directory or from the shortcut created on the desktop.

Universal installation (applies to older Windows systems, Linux and other Unix variants)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
- Copy the contents of the directory "universal_installation" to your hard drive.
- Add the subdirectory "mixtools" from the copied directory to the beginning of your MATLAB path.
- Open the file "cdbook.pdf" from the installation directory. Below each example is information about where the corresponding m-file is placed. Change the MATLAB directory to the directory of the m-file and run it.
- Note: It is not necessary to copy the contents of the directory "universal_installation" to your hard drive. You can use it directly from the CD.
