System Requirements
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 is supported
on Windows platforms running on 64-bit AMD processors.
For supported versions of Windows and desktop managers, along
with disk and RAM requirements, see
System Configurations.
Installation Instructions
This procedure installs the J2SE Runtime Environment, but not the Java Plug-in or
Java Web Start (which are not yet available for 64-bit Windows).
The J2SE Runtime Environment for Windows 64-bit comes bundled
in the install formats whose filename is given here:
- Self-extracting binary:
jre-1_5_0_<version>-windows-amd64.exe
To install, download this file and otherwise follow the
32-bit Windows installation.
