Roberto Paolucci, PhD in Earthquake Engineering, is Associate Professor of Structural Mechanics and Earthquake Engineering at Technical University of Milano, Italy. His main research activities are on the numerical and analytical modelling of seismic wave propagation, seismic site effects, engineering seismology, dynamic soil-structure interaction, including traffic-induced soil vibrations. He received the 2000 Shamsher Prakash Award for young researchers in earthquake geotechnical engineering and the 2004 Outstanding Paper Award by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. He is presently a member of the European Technical Committee (ETC-12) for the evaluation of applications of Eurocode8 Part 5, dealing with foundations, retaining structures and geotechnical aspects, established by the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. |
