5. Product information

  5.1. PDF-Files:

To view the contents of the PDF-textfiles a pdf-viewer is required (e.g. Adobe Reader, avialable via http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat).

  5.2. The inversion program INVERT:

    a. Windows:

The INVERT-executable is self-contained and requires just the standard windows libraries.

The plotting tools "plotprofile" and "plotmap" as well as the data creation scripts "creategrid", "createscat" and "disturb" depend on some CYGWIN libraries and some CYGWIN executables, which are contained in the cygwin subdirectory. The plotting tools also depend on GNUPLOT, which is contained in the gnuplot subdirectory. Additionally the editor program NOTEPAD2 is included in the notepad2 subdirectory.

CYGWIN, GNUPLOT and NOTEPAD2 are all open-source applications, freely available from the Internet. You can get documentation, source code and support for these programs at these sites:

       CYGWIN:
         Website: http://www.cywin.com
         License: see windows/cygwin/COPYING.txt
       GNUPLOT:
         Website: http://www.gnuplot.info
         License: see windows/gnuplot/Copyright
       NOTEPAD2:
         Website: http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html
         License: see windows/notepad2/Licence.txt

    b. Linux:

The INVERT- executable depends on libc.so.6, but requires no other dynamic link libraries.

The plotting tools "plotprofile" and "plotmap", as well as the data creation scripts "creategrid", "createscat" and "disturb" depend on several standard utilities (basename, cat, gawk (tested 3.5.1), mkdir and sed), on GNUPLOT (version 4.0 or 4.2) and on the bash-shell. These are all available as standard packages for Debian (an probably any other well known Linux-distribution). All these scripts can be called from within any shell (e.g. sh, bash, zsh, ksh, csh, tcsh). For these shells initialization scripts are contained in the linux directory.
